Model Maintenance Subcommittee
During 2011, the Model Maintenance subcommittee made progress on a number of fronts:
• It approved business requirements for model messaging. These requirements currently are awaiting review from the Board of Governors and must be approved before they can formally be designated as a standard for model messaging.
• It received schema submissions from MSSB, James Penman, and Vestmark. These submissions were uploaded to the MASS website. They provide a baseline for the Model Maintenance subcommittee to move forward in defining a technical standard in 2012.
In 2012, the Model Maintenance subcommittee will be focusing on two initiatives:
• A technical team will begin to review the messages. We look forward to your participation. In order to have an effective meeting, we ask that you take the time to review the messages.
• Starting with the February 2012 meeting, we will be working to define the business requirements scope for the next set of model messages. Included among the topics that have been discussed as part of the 2.0 Model Messaging Business Requirements: data exchange for managing accounts with restriction and fixed income model communications. The Model Maintenance subcommittee asks for your input on these topics and any additional topics that are needed in order to improve communication between model providers and model receivers.
The next Model Maintenance subcommittee meeting is on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. The subcommittee meets on the second Wednesday of every month. For any questions, feedback, or if you would like to participate on the subcommittee, please contact: Gary Jones or Heeren Pathak .
